1. Do not put too much trust in yourself. Know that, as humans, everyone, even the most intelligent, is prone to errors. So, pray to God to make your choice a wise choice.
2. Carefully examine your conscience before making the decision. Is your decision according to the laws of God ? Does it reflect forgiveness, compassion, humility, willingness to suffer, or, is it my selfish interests - personal glory, good name, praise, self gratifications - that I seek ? If it's the latter, it's better to wait till you make peace with God. It's with great difficulty a man can take a conscientious decision. Seldom anyone takes it, rarely he will be praised by men. Nevertheless, he will always be at peace with God.
3. Never rush, but take time, and always seek the advice of experienced men.
